Record Applicant Interest Leads to Full Camp; Showcase Performance Set for July 25

The El Paso Community Foundation’s You Rock! Camp is celebrating its fourth year of empowering girls and gender-expansive youth through music, creativity, and self-expression. Now in session at El Paso Community College’s Rio Grande Campus, this year’s camp, led by co-founder Kristine Ward, has reached its largest enrollment yet for the two-week immersive experience.

Since launching in 2023, more than 100 young musicians have participated in You Rock! Camp, discovering new talents, building confidence, forming lifelong friendships, and finding their voices through music.

Throughout the camp, participants learn to play instruments, form bands, write and perform original songs, and collaborate under the mentorship of local musicians, educators, and community leaders.

The El Paso Community Foundation is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations that serve:

• Disabled populations • Medical & scientific research • Health & human services • Animal welfare

The El Paso Community Foundation invites you to an evening celebrating art, culture, and community with Desert Rinpa, a solo exhibition by acclaimed local artist Mitsumasa Overstreet.

In just one weekend, 450 owned pets in El Paso received spay and neuter services, microchips and vaccines for free—a powerful example of what’s possible when our community comes together.

Held March 13–15, the second annual Spay-A-Thon brought together El Paso Animal Services, Friends of El Paso Animal Services, and the El Paso Community Foundation to expand access to affordable care for families across our region.

Organizational Overview
Early Matters El Paso is a coalition of cross-sector leaders advancing economic mobility through policies and practices supporting children birth to age 8 in El Paso County. EMEP convenes 54 members across 27 organizations—ISDs, childcare providers, nonprofits, workforce development, and higher education—to improve early education through data-driven advocacy and strategic partnerships.

El Paso’s unique border context—Fort Bliss military families, binational ties with Ciudad Juárez, proximity to Las Cruces—creates distinctive ECE opportunities. EMEP positions early childhood as essential workforce development infrastructure, connecting local advocacy to statewide Early Matters Texas policy priorities. EMEP is positioned for transformational growth with enhanced advocacy capacity and sustainable infrastructure

The Classroom Fund was created in 2011 as a special project of the El Paso Community Foundation. Since then, over $750,000 has been awarded to purchase materials and equipment to enhance learning opportunities and engage students in the El Paso and Las Cruces area.

Full-time educators in the El Paso and Las Cruces area are invited to apply for resource grants up to $1,000 for the 2026-2027 school year.
