The El Paso Community Foundation and Because of You Fund are excited to announce that You Rock! Music Camp presented by Nusenda Credit Union returns for the third consecutive year. You Rock! Music Camp empowers individuals of marginalized identities and diverse experiences through music education and performance. Public registrations for this year’s camp will open May 19, 2025 at yourockep.org. Limited spaces are available.
The music camp will be held for two weeks from July 14 - July 25 at the El Paso Community College - Rio Grande Campus with a live performance to cap off the camp on July 26, 2025.
The camp seeks to actively expand opportunities for marginalized identities and teach the value of a safe and supportive community. Through collaboration, music is used to inspire individual and social change. You Rock! campers will learn to play an instrument, form a band, write an original song, and perform live on stage!
Jim Ward (At the Drive-In, Sparta), and Kristine Ward are an active part of the team that keeps You Rock! alive and jamming. “Kristine and I continue to be blown away by the raw talent and exceptional kids that come to our camp. We couldn’t be prouder to be part of this community and the music that vibes from it,” said Jim Ward.
“You Rock! Music Camp has struck a power chord with the community the last two years because—as history has shown us—music can inspire profound social change. We’re just setting the stage for our youth to do the same,” said Eric Pearson, President/CEO, El Paso Community Foundation.
Applications will open on May 19, 2025 and space is limited. If you would like to support the camp by donating toward the scholarships for campers with any amount, or inquire about corporate sponsorships, visit: epcf.org/because
