PechaKucha Night El Paso and the Texas Society of Architects (TxA) present “Just Beneath the Surface”. PechaKucha is Japanese for “chit chat” and El Paso is thrilled to host a PechaKucha event in person once more! There will be a fantastic lineup of philosophers, artists, and creatives who will share their passions and experiences. PechaKucha Night will take place on Thurs. Oct. 27 at the Plaza Theater.
Since 2008, PechaKucha El Paso has brought together voices that surpass boundaries and strengthen the bonds between our two sister cities of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. PechaKucha El Paso organized this unique public event as part of the Texas Society of Architects annual conference and design expo as a recitation of these voices. Presenters include local artists, designers, muralists, poets, filmmakers, and community activists from all around the El Paso/Juarez region, as well as cross-border collaborations.
PechaKucha is a free global storytelling platform that uniqueness of idea, passion, and individuals. It is available both online and offline. PechaKucha Nights were initially hosted in Tokyo in 2003, and they have now spread to more than 1,200 places worldwide. There are already over 50,000 attendees at 1,100+ PechaKucha Nights throughout the world each year.
