The Joseph B Karam Scholarship Fund in the El Paso Community Foundation recently awarded scholarships to two students pursuing degrees in nursing and education.

The Joseph B Karam Scholarship Fund provides scholarships to students who have a child or children aged eighteen years or older and are attending El Paso Community College and/or the University of Texas at El Paso. Joseph B. Karam gave generously of himself, his time and his resources to help people before his death in 2009. Through The Joseph B. Karam Scholarship, his gift of serving others will continue in perpetuity through the chosen students.

The 2022 Joseph B. Karam Scholarship Fund recipients are:

Sulema Martinez, of El Paso TX, a nursing program student at El Paso Community College Rio Grande Campus, El Paso, TX.

Rebekah Rodriguez, of El Paso, TX, a multidisciplinary studies student at University of Texas at El Paso studying for her teaching certification in Special Education in El Paso, TX.
